Homemade Herbal Hair Shampoo Recipe
If you are not happy with commercial hair shampoos, or would like to avoid the harsh chemicals that may harm your hair and scalp, here is an interesting recipe offered by Jade Nash to make your own herbal shampoo.
Ingredients
· Castile soap (plain, peppermint, eucalyptus) – 4 oz
· Rosemary – ½ oz
· Sage – ½ oz
· Nettles – ½ oz
· Lavender – ½ oz
· MSM – 2000 mg
Rosemary helps prevent premature baldness keeping your hair follicles stimulated. Sage is both an antioxidant and antibacterial. Nettles purify and stimulate the blood, and promote hair growth. Lavender keeps sebaceous gland oil under check and reduces itchiness. MSM, via its sulfur content, strengthens and improves hair quality. It acts as a carrier and helps carry herbal nutrients into the skin.
Preparation Method
Keep an empty 8 oz plastic bottle ready to pour your shampoo into when it is prepared.
Take the herbs and mix it in a jar with a lid. Add three heaped tablespoons of the mixed herbs into 2 cups of freshly boiled distilled water. Allow the concoction to cool for 30 to 40 minutes. Add the entire MSM after 30 minutes of cooling. After another 10 minutes when the MSM has melted strain the concoction into a bowl. Take the 8 oz plastic bottle and pour 2½ oz of the herbal concoction and 4 oz of castile soap in it. Shake well to mix the ingredients after capping the bottle. Your homemade herbal shampoo is ready to use.
